This is not another pumpkin recipe. I know pumpkin filled anything is a classic dessert on most Thanksgiving Day tables, but with everyone going pumpkin crazy these days (eg. pumpkin spice cereal, oreos, lattés, candy bars, etc.) let’s change things up a bit.
May I introduce to you, maple syrup! When I think of maple syrup, all things buttery and warm come to mind like pancakes, waffles, biscuits and cookies. And speaking of cookies, Laura Vitale has a simple recipe for maple sugar cookies!
It’s the perfect sweet treat for your Thanksgiving table. Guests could eat it before the Thanksgiving meal with some coffee or tea, during with a slice of turkey or ham (treat it like an English biscuit), or after with another cup of coffee or tea. Or…maybe you’re in a hurry, and don’t have time to go to the supermarket. No worries, the ingredients are basic and already in your pantry!
Well I’m off folks to enjoy these maple sugar cookies with family and friends! I hope you give these maple sugar cookies a go, and be sure to tweet Laura Vitale a picture of your cookies! Let me know in the comments below what your go-to recipes are for Thanksgiving. Have a Happy Thanksgiving peeps!
