My Current Favorites

Heart Sunglasses

Most bloggers out there put up their monthly favorites. I don’t know about you, but when I like something a lot I tend to go back to it for more than a month. Of course I love trying new products (especially snacks!) and getting that feeling of discovering something you didn’t know you were missing out on or being the first person to get their hands on it, but I’ll save that for another blogpost. For now, I want to share my current favorites with you so let’s get right into it!

I’ll start off with some beauty items:

Hair care

For my hair, I use Head and Shoulders 2 in 1 Smooth and Silky. Simply put, it keeps my scalp dandruff free and my hair nice and soft. I pair this with Macadamia Deep Repair Masque. You’re probably thinking that’s A LOT of conditioner, but this girly over here gots thick hair! So if you have thick, porous, and in my case chemically processed hair, you need products that are going to lock in moisture and seal those cuticles. I’m still open to finding products that could keep my locks healthy and frizz free in any whether (i.e. humidity or the cold), but for now this pair works like a charm.

Under eyes

Moving on to the face, I cover my dark circles with Maybelline’s Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment Concealer. Wow that was a mouthful…anyways, it’s a concealer that is so easy to use. I do not have a hand at applying makeup but if you got dark circles and you’re going to work or somewhere that you need to look like you’re alive, this product is it! It blends so easily, doesn’t leave weird cakey lines, and instantly brightens your eye area. I apply it with the hand dandy Real Techniques Sponge, which gives you a more natural and even finish.

Sally Hansen

On to the body, specifically the legs. I found the majority of the girls in my circle are very opposed to the idea of waxing, and I don’t blame them. It’s time consuming and can get a bit messy if you’re not careful. But pain wise, it’s not bad at all especially if you use Sally Hansen Extra Strength All-Over Body Wax. When I use normal wax, the stuff that looks like honey, it gets too hot, it’s messy, and it leaves my skin red. Not with this stuff! It’s really great for sensitive skin, minimizes the pain, and removes most of your hair. If you’re a beginner at waxing, you should trying waxing a smaller section, such as your underarms first. It leaves you with a clean finish, and it lasts longer than shaving. So if you ever want to give home waxing a try, I suggest you go with Ms. Sally Hansen.

Healthy snacks

Now let’s talk food! When I come home from work, I’m very hungry…and tired. I need a little pick me up to energize me for the rest of the afternoon. Right now I’ve been gravitating towards Thai bananas and Savanna Orchards Honey Roasted Nut Mix, which apparently is only available at select Costcos. You could find Thai bananas at most asian supermarkets, but I suggest not going to 99 Ranch…mom says they don’t got the good ones. Thai bananas are small and dense, but they are sweeter than your typical banana and they last longer on your kitchen counter. Pair this with some nut mix and ice cold water, and you got yourself a healthy snack before you head off to the gym, or in my case yoga.

Godiva Mint Choco

Most days, I like to end my evening on a good note by kicking it back and indulging on a piece of chocolate. Recently, I’ve fallen for Godiva’s Mint Chocolate Chip Dessert Truffles. It’s their newest flavor and it’s literally like mint chocolate chip ice cream in your mouth. They’re having a sale right now where you can buy 3 bags of truffles for $28. That’s a great deal from Godiva. And if you’re a member (membership is free folks!), you can get a free truffle at their boutique once a month. Trust me, getting a free truffle makes your day when you didn’t find what you’re looking for at the mall.

Hedgehog Duster

For random favorites, I received this hedgehog microfiber mitten from Daiso (Japanese Dollar Store). All I have to say is that it’s cute and keeps my desk dust free. This little guy just makes cleaning more enjoyable, and perhaps causes you to procrastinate a bit when you suddenly get the urge to dust everything.

Yellow Bowl

I would like to take this time to recognize my oh beloved yellow bowl. For more than 15 years, it has fed me bowls and bowls of rice, oatmeal, and cereal. But now, it has a crack and must be retired. Thank you yellow bowl, you’ve done good and now you can find rest in the kitchen cupboard.

And that’s a wrap folks! Thanks for reading if you got this far. I hope you found my favorites to be useful in your life. You know, it’s the small things that make life delightful! Please let me know what your current favorites are in the comments below.

    1. oh yeah, and a tip about the bananas: you should eat them when they are really ripe, like a lot of dark spots. It will kind of look ugly but that’s when they are good to eat.
