Last Minute Halloween Party Treats!

Muddy Buddy

When I don’t have an oven to bake cookies, I make…muddy buddies! They require a few ingredients and are easy to make. As I’ve discovered on Pinterest, you could do so many things with muddy buddies. And since fall season is here, why not play around with fall inspired muddy buddy recipes. But I found the recipes on pinterest to be too sweet. So, I tweaked the recipes and got the perfect muddy buddy batches to share with you!

APPLE CIDER MUDDY BUDDIES

Apple Cider Muddy Buddies

Ingredients
Half a box/6.5 cups of rice chex mix cereal (any brand of rice chex-ish cereal works)
1 cup of white chocolate chips
3/4 cup of powdered sugar
I packet of apple cider mix
Gallon sized ziploc bag

Pour half a box of rice chex mix cereal into your mixing bowl and set aside.

Pour the powdered sugar and apple cider mix into the ziploc bag. Then shake the ziploc bag to mix them together.
Tip: if your apple cider mix is coming out in chunks, you want to break apart the chunks before pouring it into the ziploc.

Heat the white chocolate chips at 30 second intervals until melted. Depending on the power of your microwave, it will take 2-3 times.

Pour the melted white chocolate chips into your bowl of rice chex mix cereal, and fold the chocolate and cereal to mix together.
Tip: Pour the chocolate on the sides of the bowl for easier mixing and an even spread.

Once the cereal is coated with chocolate, place it into the ziploc bag of powdered sugar and apple cider mix.

Close the ziploc bag and shake until cereal is coated with the powdered sugar and apple cider.

Open the ziploc bag, pour into a bowl, and serve.
Tips: I prefer to chill the muddy buddies in the fridge before serving. I think it tastes better.

PUMPKIN SPICE MUDDY BUDDIES

Pumpkin Spice Muddy Buddies

The ingredients and procedure are exactly the same for pumpkin spice muddy buddies. The only ingredient you need to switch out is the apple cider mix. Simply replace it with 1 tablespoon of pumpkin spice!
